    How do I cancel a hotel booking?

    You can only cancel your reservation by calling us direclty on +256 (0) 200 905 286 or sending an email at with details of your booking. Please check the hotel cancellation policy before cancelling your reservation. If you cancel a non-refundable hotel room(s), you will lose all monies paid for that hotel room(s).

    Note: Apart from the fully non-refundable hotel bookings, the earlier you make any changes on your reservation, the better. Though TheLead does not impose charges on booking changes or cancellations, many hotels do charge non-refundable rates that TheLead is obliged to include in the total charge. Such charges get higher when changes or cancellations on reservations are made within the 48 hours leading to your check-in date.

    To exempt yourself from penalties and charges due to cancellations, you need to make your cancellations before the hotel's cancellation deadline, which is usually 48 hours before the check-in date. For further questions, please contact the hotel directly.

    Can someone else book or make a reservation for me?

    Though it is not advisable, yes someone else can help you to make your reservation. You should be in full trust with the person you choose to assist you in this case since you'll have to provide them with your details including log in credentials, travel dates, full names and payment details.

    Once you allow another person to make your booking, TheLead does not take responsiblity of any outcome or fraudulent actions that may result from that grant.

    It is also important to note that at the payment stage, you'll be obliged to avail the assistant with your credit card details or access code to your Mobile money account for either of the options you choose to use as your mode of payment.

    When do I get charged for my hotel reservation?

    At the moment, we only have one form of charging; charge on booking.

    Once you confirm your booking and continue to the available modes of payment; credit/visa card and/or Mobile money, you're automatically charged at confirmation. We shall contact the hotel you will have booked and go ahead to prepare the reserved room(s). You can only cancel this booking 48 hours before the actual check-in date by contacting us via our Online Cancellation Form with details of your booking.

    What payment options are available?

    PesaPalTM is one of our payment gateways. It provides options of payment with Visa and Matercard for international payments and the use of Mobile money by MTN and Airtel subscribers within Uganda. If you have an account with PesaPalTM you can also use PesaPal's e-wallet to make your payment.

    Note: Using Visa or MasterCard options shall deem you chargeable in US Dollars (USD) while other options shall charge in the local currency, that is, Ugandan Shillings (UGX).

    How do I book for a hotel room?

    You can book your hotel room(s) by visiting the hotels section. Here you can choose from our recommended or featured hotels, then you'll be taken to that particular hotel's page where you can choose your dates of travel; check-in and check-out.

    Alternatively, you can use the search section at the right hand side of the hotels home page, where you can provide your preferred location, dates of travel and other options. From here, you'll be directed to the search results page with a list of hotels within your search criteria. Choose the hotel of your choice and TheLead shall direct you to that hotel's page where you can select a room of your choice.

    At your chosen hotel's page (after you've selected your check-in and check-out dates):

    1. Select the 'Continue Booking' button
    2. Select the 'Book' button besides the right hotel room of your choice

    After selecting your room, you'll be directed to the booking page where you're requested to provide your travel details and personal information. Depending on your chosen mode of payment, you'll be directed to the payment gateway to confirm your payment.

    Note: You can only book one type of room for a particular hotel at a time, that is, in your search criteria, you can select more than one rooms but they must be of the same type. For instance, you cannot select Standard and Deluxe rooms at the same time but you can book more than one Standard or Deluxe rooms at the same time.
